Kvarner Region
The Kvarner Tourist Board with the associated island of Lošinj and Lošinj Hotels@Villas is a partner of the exclusive dinner at the Heart of Sarajevo award ceremony for the best TV series at the 30th Sarajevo Film Festival. A region with a rich history at the crossroads of cultures and civilizations, an even richer gastronomic heritage that is constantly being upgraded by nurturing autochthonousness and developing quality, won the title of European Gastronomy Region 2026 for a reason.
The unique combination of the sea, islands and mountains, the interweaving of the maritime and continental climate enriches the Kvarner region throughout the year with top quality ingredients, which creative chefs in numerous restaurants turn into a rhapsody of unforgettable smells and tastes. Two young top chefs from Kvarner will present their culinary skills at the Sarajevo Film Festival in collaboration with the prestigious gastronomic guide Gault&Millau Croatia. Michael Gollenz (Gault&Millau Trophy of the Great Chef of Tomorrow 2022) is the chef of the restaurant Alfred Keller (1Michelin*) in the luxurious Boutique Hotel Alhambra in Mali Lošinj, on the island of health and vitality. Deni Srdoč (GM Young Talent Trophy 2018), is the owner of Nebo restaurant (Gault&Millau Croatia - 4 toque, 1Michelin*) and Hidden Winebistro in Rijeka. The guests at the SFF gala dinner will have the opportunity to feel a touch of Kvarner and see a small part of its beauty: a video by the Tourist Board of Mali Lošinj in which the world-renowned cellist Stjepan Hauser plays in the incredible locations of the island - will have its world premiere at the Heart of Sarajevo Awards. Due to its beauty, climate and rich gastronomic offer, the Kvarner region is desirable to guests all year round, and its unique views are an attractive backdrop for filmmakers from all over the world.
